We have an international office that is staffed with a full-time medical coordinator (English-speaking) and a medical interpreter (Chinese-speaking) to assist you to receive your examination with peace of mind. (Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 5:15 pm, excluding national holidays)

Requests when Attending for an Examination

Please bring (1) photo identification (passport or residence card) and (2) your health insurance card when attending for an examination. Confirmation of these documents is required because, as a medical institution certified to accept foreign patients, we are required to report on each patient’s nationality and language in order to prevent accidents caused by mistaken identity during medical examinations and tests. Patients who do not have Japanese health insurance will be charged 30 yen for each medical fee point. Please check here for the pre-examination procedure.

For foreign patients who do not have Japanese public health insurance

Non-resident foreign patients who are not enrolled in Japan’s public health insurance and are seeking a consultation at Toranomon Hospital should arrange for support from a medical travel support company in order to ensure the provision of safe medical care. Please note that if you contact us directly, we will ask you to contact one of the following two companies. We do not provide medical care to inbound medical tourism individuals (or their agents).

* Coordination costs will be borne by the patient. Toranomon Hospital received “Japan International Hospitals” certification in January 2017. Under this Japanese domestic certification system, the following two companies have been selected as medical travel support companies.

Please store receipts carefully, as they are required for procedures such as tax returns and high-cost medical expense rebates and will not be reissued. If a receipt is lost or has been used for another procedure, a "proof of receipt" can be issued. Please apply at the Payment Consultations counter (2nd floor).
